Tiscali drops metered broadband packages
Wednesday 22 September 2004 11:22:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Web User has details about Tiscali dropping its metered broadband products from its product range. Apparently they stopped taking orders in August, due in part to a general lack of demand compared to their unmetered packages.

Tiscali had two metered packages at £19.99, one with 50 hours a month of access, and another with 1GB of bandwidth. The monthly bills were capped at £50 a month, which seems a rather high capping point. The question now is how popular are the metered packages proving with other ISPs. The feedback on our forums suggests many new broadband subscribers are unsure how much bandwidth they will use. Additionally many realise that they will do much more with a broadband connection, than with a narrowband connection.
