Various players are trying a variety of ways of getting music out to people via legal methods. The London Evening Standard launches its London Music Network service on the 23rd September. This is a joint venture with CD's included in the Metro Life supplement and an online site allowing people to listen to the content free. The material will play for four times before requiring people to purchase an 'unlock' code.
The service should help to promote new music, particularly those who are having trouble getting onto the download services run by the multi-nationals. The website will go live on the 23rd and is located at www.bigtime.tv/lmn.
