One million new ADSL connections in less than 6 months
Wednesday 18 August 2004 15:48:00 by Andrew Ferguson

The number of ADSL connections in the UK has rocketed through the 3 million mark, just six months after passing the 2 million level. BTs press release confirming the figures is here.

BT is currently enabling 6000 new ADSL customers a day, and the roll-out programme is likely to keep this figure sustained for another year. Making BTs 5 million connection target look very possible now. It is not just ADSL though that is growing, both NTL and Telewest have also seen strong growth in the past few months also.
