PlusNet offers a 'try before you buy' service
Tuesday 03 August 2004 18:09:00 by Andrew Ferguson

In a brave move, PlusNet has decided to offer a guarantee that if after 45 days of joining their ADSL service you are not happy, that they will pay for you to migrate to a competing ISP.

This is the first time we have heard of such an offer, the odd user may have struck an informal deal on this in the past with ISPs of course. The saving may only be £12.99 (inc VAT), but it is still money saved. We would advise that people read the guarantee which is located at http://www.plus.net/guarantee.

PlusNet also offers free migrations for users joining its service. It will be interesting to see what reaction other providers have to this offer. Also it will be interesting to see whether the new simpler MAC authorisation system will encourages more free migration offers.

We are currently listing 29 providers who have indicated they are using the MAC system, the list is here.
