The Access to Broadband Campaign was due to hold a conference during July 2004, but rather than hold two events, they have decided to concentrate on the November event in Aviewmore, Scotland. This move in dates has been partially the result of the recent Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) news, and Scotland seems a logical location now as many of the communities that will not see ADSL or another form of broadband in 2005 are in Scotland.
Scotland with 400 BT exchanges not in the planned roll-out scheme, looks set to have the majority of the 100,000 homes and businesses not connected to a BT enabled exchange. The challenge for groups like ABC, and the providers is to find a forumla that will ensure a decent level of broadband service for these areas.
