BT Broadband and BT Yahoo both operating under the BT Retail umbrella have today announced details of a Free Flights promotion. Basically anyone who purchases a BT Retail broadband connection is entitled to one free flight to Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Nice, Barcelona, Prague, New York, Atlanta, Boston, Washington DC or Philadelphia. A single additional ticket can be purchased for £88 return to Europe and £219 return to the USA. Airport taxes and travel insurance are not included.
The qualifying products are: BT Broadband Basic, BT Broadband, BT Yahoo! Broadband, BT Broadband 1Mb and BT Yahoo! Broadband 1Mb. As normal with these sort of offers there are a number of clauses the main being that you must order by 20th June 2004, and have the connection made no later than 18th July 2004. Unfortunately existing users who are regrading are excluded from the offer, for the full conditions see the BT site here.
It is not unusual to see free or reduced price flight offers at this time of year, the popular daily newspapers generally offer a few per year. It is unusual to see one tied to a broadband connection, and this perhaps reflects the growing popularity of ADSL in the UK, and moves by marketing departments to appeal to varying groups of the UK population. Booking of holidays/travel on-line is something that a fast broadband connection is ideal for, and with the growing number of airlines offering reduced prices for on-line booking it is no great surprise to see today's offer launched.
