In the general trend in the economy, the ISP industry has not escaped the drive to move jobs to lower cost economies such as India and China.
ManchesterOnline reports that One.Tel staff in Old Trafford were told last night that many of their roles, especially in sales and customer services, will be moved to India in order to save on costs. They were advised that they would be able to apply for other jobs within parent company, Centrica. One.Tel argues that it has no choice in the matter if it wishes to remain competitive as a telco.
