Recall a long time ago, there was a company called SkyLINC saying it could provide broadband to most SMEs in the UK via 18 tethered balloons. Well The Registers John Leyden has been looking into the developments in this area.
It appears that John Leyden has tried to find out what has happened to the original promise of a launch in January 2004, but is not getting many answers. With the UKs broadband map rapidly changing to one of at least most people having access to one form of broadband, new ventures will need to target niche markets or offer something more than what is already available.
