A relatively large batch of RFS dates has been released this week, with 56 dates in total. This includes four exchanges that have received an RFS date as part of the Shropshire partnership.
While 56 RFS dates does make a dent in the number of exchanges waiting for a Ready for Service date, many campaigners are still waiting for what seems a long time, from the trigger level being met to the issuing of the RFS date. At present it seems patience is a virtue needed in great quantities, unfortunately many campaigners are in the unfortunate position of also being the 'informal' spokesperson for all things ADSL and broadband in their area, and therefore are under pressure from locals for answers as to when their RFS date will be. Lets hope that successive weeks will see a similar number of RFS dates issued and the backlog cleared.
At least things are not like back in 2001/2002 when RFS dates were announced a couple of times a year, and perhaps was just 100 exchanges. Currently we are seeing 100-200 RFS dates announced each month.
