Broadband4Devon project aiming to get broadband to Devon
Saturday 03 January 2004 11:41:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Broadband4Devon is a project that has been launched to try and ensure broadband is available to 5,500 businesses in the county of Devon. The project has the backing of Devon County Council, South West Regional Development Agency, Business Link, BT, Bluewire/ZyNet, and has access to over £5.5million funding from the Objective 2 government funding.

The project will work to ensuring that the most appropriate broadband technologies are used, be they ADSL, cable modems, wireless or satellite based broadband. Though the needs of the local community beyond businesses are not being ignored - the project recognises the contribution that local campaigners can make.

Therefore if you are campaigning to get broadband to your area in Devon or thinking about it, the projects website is worth a visit.
