BT Wholesale missed releasing a set of Ready For Service (RFS) dates last week, this is the reason none appeared in our news. BT has told the various broadband campaigners that they are planning on getting a batch of RFS dates announced by December 24th, and this should include those exchanges that reached their trigger level prior to 10th December 2003.
Part of the problem has been that the amount of work to determine the 2300 trigger levels resulted in the planning team falling a little behind on determining the date and order for RFS dates.
At present there are 204 exchanges that have triggered and are awaiting an RFS date, another 302 with a date announced, and 2127 exchanges that already have ADSL running on them. of the remaining 2898 exchanges they have 216,641 registrations. 39 exchanges have reached 90% of their trigger level, so are likely to trigger in the next 5 to 10 days.
Congratulations to all those campaingers who have worked so hard in the last 12 to 18 months to bring broadband to their areas. We would suggest that people take a break over Christmas so that they can enjoy themselves, and come back revived for the New Year.
