BT Scotland announces broadband for 8,300 more customers

The Strathspey and Badenoch Herald carries the news that BT Scotland in partnership with the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is bringing ADSL to five more exchanges that did not previously have any trigger level set.

Exchanges ready for service on 17th December 2003:

Cullen Fochabers Fortrose Grantown on Spey

These five exchanges serve 8,300 customers, and Bob Downes (BT Scotland director) has the following to say with regard to coverage of ADSL in Scotland "When these latest exchange upgrades are completed, Broadband will be available to 73 per cent of businesses and households in Moray, and 45 per cent in the Highland area, with total coverage of the Highlands, Islands and Moray set to reach 50 per cent early next year.".
