News on BT Wireless trials
Thursday 16 October 2003 10:44:00 by Andrew Ferguson

ISPReview has some information on the current state of a couple of trials that BT are running for wireless broadband. Rhymney, Wales was due to be part of a trial, but since ADSL is coming soon the trial will not go ahead.

Ballingry, Scotland has much better news, BT will be switching to trialling a product from Alvarion using Point to Multipoint (PmP) wireless technology. BT has had some success with Alvarion in a trial at Porthleven, Cornwall. This switch over will mean the original Ballingry trial is delayed a month, probably until November now.
