New Redcare alarm lines are now ADSL compatible
Wednesday 01 October 2003 19:04:00 by Andrew Ferguson

Redcare the alarm system that uses part of the phone line to monitor the alarm, even when the phone line is in use, has upto July 2003 been incompatible with ADSL. Since July 2003 any new Redcare line installed should be broadband compatible, and existing Redcare lines should follow in early 2004. More details are on the Redcare website here

To ensure the compatibility of the line a Redcare mcd should be installed at the time that Redcare is installed on the line. The mcd's are available from BT and should be fitted by the qualified installer to ensure the alarm system meets the suppliers requirements.
