The BT CEO Ben Verwaayen talked to TelecomTV.com at the Broadband World Forum two weeks ago, and the streaming media from the interview after his keynote luncheon speech is now available.
The interview does not produce any revelations, but acts as a nice backgrounder for where BT is at this time. A couple of key points that are easily overlooked is that "broadband is more than ADSL" and "broadband is a new way of interacting with our customers". These two simple statements reflect what a permanent connection can mean, it is not purely about the speed of your connection, but the fact that it is there 24/7. Businesses can now respond to customers within minutes via email, deliveries can be tracked with ease and much more.
The interview is available in two different bit rates, 56kbps and 150kbps both Windows Media format, and it runs for just under eight minutes. To view it you will have to register on TelecomTV.com, which is free and you will receive a daily news alert. The news alert can be cancelled at a later date if you want to.
Update: For those who prefer to read rather than watch the video, a summary is available on TelecomTV's website here.
