60,000 homes in Birmingham to gain Telewest digital services

ISPReview reports that Telewest Broadband are to upgrade its last remaining customers in the Birmingham area from its analogue network over to its digital platform. This will make Telewest's Broadband Internet 512kbps to 2Mbps packages available to around 60,000 extra homes.

This work is due to start in October 2003, and will continue on a street by street basis until April 2004. Areas due to benefit are Bournville and Kings Norton.
