The BT exchanges in Downpatrick and Enniskillen in Northern Ireland are to have their 'Ready for Service' date brought forward to 4th September. Previously they were set to be enabled by October 4th 2003. BTs ordering systems should update on 2nd September to reflect these new dates.
This situation is unusual as exchanges are not enabled early generally, but apparently the BT team in Northern Ireland were able to get the work arranged and done early, and these new service dates are the result. Of the exchanges with published RFS dates, these are the first exchanges to go live this far ahead of time. So do not expect lots of other exchanges to suddenly do the same.
