The latest round of 26 Ready for Service (RFS) dates for BT exchanges to be ADSL enabled has missed out Torpoint again. Torpoint in Cornwall triggered on July 15th 2003, but while it has been confirmed it will get a service date it appears to be very slow in arriving.
Exchanges ready for service on 3rd December 2003:
|Bomere Heath||Bovey Tracey||Burley||Finmere|
Exchanges ready for service on 10th December 2003:
|Barton Under Needwood||Brechin||Dawley||Donington|
|Sampford Peverell||Sutton Scotney||Whitwell|
The ADSLGuide demand tracker lists 3877 exchanges, which if the 1100 exchanges that were enabled prior to BTs demand led scheme are added, gives 4877 exchanges. This leaves around 1000 exchanges still not on our tracker. Currently we are adding around two to four exchanges every day to our list, but we would like more. So if you know of an exchange not listed, enter a valid phone number for listing after having searched for the exchange here. Any phone number supplied is kept confidential and is only used for generating the Demand Tracker data table. It will take around 24 to 48 hours from submission for a new exchange to be displayed.
The software that produces the daily updates has recently been revised to cope with BT exchanges that have the same name but are in different parts of the country, e.g. Sutton is now listed as both Sutton and Sutton (MRSUT), the name in brackets is the BT exchange code.
