The ISP Internet Central and Balfours property agents have announced that they are bringing broadband to Upton Magna Business Park in Shropshire. Balfours approached Internet Central to run the service on a site that houses 14 businesses in converted agricultural buildings. The scheme has also attracted the backing of Advantage West Midlands because of their Rural Broadband Pilot Programme.
The business park is set to have the broadband Internet access provisioned via 2.4Ghz wireless. The aim is that once the wireless broadband is up and running that access will be extended to residential and other business users in the area.
Whilst this scheme and other rural broadband access schemes may seem insignificant in number to many, for the people in those areas the benefits can be very large.
