We reported at the start of May that BT Wholesale was to change the priorities for the use of copper pairs in TPON (Fibre-optic) areas. Several people in these areas are reporting that the ADSL availability checker at www.bt.com/broadband has changed the message it displays.
The change in message is from a simple "you cannot get ADSL" to "you may be able to get ADSL subject to survey". This means that for people in TPON areas, it's worthwhile checking your line and placing an order where it says you may be able to obtain service.
