Complaints to Oftel mount
Thursday 01 May 2003 02:41:00 by John Hunt

Two more companies have joined those with complaints to Oftel about the BT price cuts that are active from today, dropping the wholesale monthly cost of its IPStream broadband product range in some cases by as much as half. The two joining Thus, Energis and Tiscali are Ltd and Your Communications, bringing the total to five.

BT have so far stood firm by their price drop, and since we have now arrived in May, when the price cuts were scheduled to be introduced, it may be unlikely that Oftel will impose any actions pending its investigations. The complaints have arisen because BT failed to pass on similar savings on the Datastream range of products that allow telcos to take advantage of their own national networks for the end user connections from the exchange.
