CWU strike action and how it will affect BT ADSL services
Friday 11 April 2003 17:49:00 by Andrew Ferguson

The Communications Workers Union is planning 3 days of strikes, Monday 14th April, Friday 25th April and to a lesser extent on Monday 28th April. The strike is the result of a row about a 'bonus' scheme that BT is running.

BT Wholesale has informed its Service Providers that engineering visits scheduled for 14th and 25th of April will need to be rescheduled. This is because the strike action affects customer service field engineers, who in general are the people who carry out engineer assisted ADSL installations. The normal emergency fault repair services will continue to function.

If you have a visit booked for the 14th or 25th and have not heard from your service provider, it is recommended that you contact them to arrange a suitable alternative date.
